Ferdinand Claus and Georges Schweder, two Germans living in Portugal, founded a soap and perfume factory called Claus & Schweder in 1887, producing fine quality soaps for European aristocracy. After World War I, they merged with one of their original business partners, Ach. Brito, and changed the company name to Claus Porto in 1924.
In 1936, Claus Porto launched a new brand called Musgo Real, focusing on men's shaving products. In the 1950s, Claus Porto opened their own lithography studio, which allowed them to bring printing in-house in order to have more control over their packaging design, which has always been a hallmark of the brand.
Captivating scents, beautiful packaging design, and old-world craftsmanship have been the pillars of Claus Porto’s beauty and fragrance house for more than 130 years.
